Q. Which agency oversees diesel emission regulations?
A: Here in California, the California Air Resources Board (CARB or simply ARB) is the state’s clean air agency. Its mission is to provide clean, safe air to every Californian and protect the public’s exposure to toxic air pollutants. They implement and enforce rules and regulations to reduce California’s emission of greenhouse gasses.
Q. How can fleet owners, owner-operators, and drivers meet CARB regulations?
A: The details of complying with CARB regulations can be confusing. Visit our CARB Rules Section on this website to find the regulations that apply to your vehicles and fleet. Or better yet, contact Bob Gaffney and our emissions consulting team at (559) 472-7301.
Q. What is a diesel retrofit, and how do I know if it's necessary?
A: A diesel retrofit may be required according to the age of your engine and the applicable CARB Rule. A state-of-the-art retrofit device replaces the existing muffler. Toxic diesel particulate matter (PM) and other air pollutants are prevented from entering the air, because they are trapped within the diesel retrofit device. Retrofitting is the cost-effective method of complying with CARB regulations. Find the optimum DPF to pass CARB inspection. Contact our retrofit expert Stephen Davis, for installation information, at (559) 472-7301.
Q. What is a diesel particulate filter (DPF) and how do I know it needs to be cleaned?
A: Regular maintenance of your fleet’s DPFs keeps fuel economy in check while meeting CARB regulations. Our emissions team performs a smoke test evaluation to determine airflow and micro-pore performance. Explore our web pages for more details on the benefits of cleaning DPFs and when to perform DPF cleaning. We also repair and recover filters when necessary. Our patented FSX Cleaning System removes over 90% of the dirt and soot in only 22 minutes, and we expedite service for a speedy turnaround.
